About Us

At Chesinger, we combine the freshest, and 100% natural Yak and cow milk, meat and raw materials we get from the pristine Qinghai-Tibetan grassland with the time-tested and honored European technique and hygienic standard of Cheese making to bring you only the best kind of gourmet and fine food we are proud of.

Chesinger is one of the very few cheese makers in the world who have the expertise to produce cheese using pure Yak milk. We carefully monitor the production process of our products to achieve international quality and standards. We do not use any chemical, unnatural additives, and preservatives on our products. You get the best tasting, most natural and "green" food from Chesinger.

Our products receive QS (Quality Safety ) label (QS6300 0501 1733) from AQSIQ (General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of People's Republic of China). We also have Halal label for our products from the Provincial Muslim Food Committee.

Why Yak Cheese ?

Scientists in Canada, in a paper published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry (March 2008), found that yak cheese had a lower overall fat content than cheese made from cow's milk. It also contained much higher levels of heart-healthy "good fats" such as CLA and omega-3 fatty acids. An Indian study indicates that yak meat also contains very high omega-3 fatty acid, which helps combat cardiovascular diseases by keeping cholesterol in check. The China Nutrition Society, a research institute of the Ministry of Health, says that yak milk contains 18 kinds of amino acids, including eight essential ones that humans cannot synthesize. The amino acids, calcium, and vitamin A in yak milk are up to 15 percent higher than in cow's milk. The nutrition society also claims that Yak milk improves immunity and bone density, controls diabetes, and plays an important role in muscle tissue.

Fair Trade Principles Socially Responsible

We source directly from local herders, which eliminate the middle men. We also make sure that our products come from herders who are not harming the environment. With income going directly to benefit the local herders, we are able to help better their livelihood. We started in summer 2008 by buying from 25 families on the Qinghai Lake grassland, in Jiayi Village. By summer 2009 we've increased to more than 50 families in Jiayi, Heimahe, and Riyueshan villages. We will be fair to purchasing raw materials from the local farmers
